Tutorial: Brush Pattern Effect: Grid

Instructions:
1. First open up Photoshop. Then start of with the image you want to do the effect on. I'm going to use this one. Like this: [HERE].
2. Then open a new file.
Next go to File >> New and open an image 10x10 pixel.
Make sure it is transparent and then click 'OK'. Like this: [HERE].
3. Once you click OK it should look like the image one below. [HERE].
4. Then use the zoom tool, the image by 1600%, this should look like this: [HERE].
5. Then using the Marquee Tool, right click on it and select the Marquee Tool looking like this select the left side of the image. Like this: [HERE].
6. Then right click on the Marquee Tool again and use the Horizontal version it looks like this: then on the image select the top portion of the image using this tool. It should look like the image below. [HERE].
7. Next use the Paintbucet tool to fill in the selected portion. Then right click and select 'Deselect'. It should look like the image below.

8. Then go to Edit >> Define Pattern... Like this: [HERE].
9. A window should open, name the pattern. I used Grid Pattern. Then click OK. Like this: [HERE].
10. Then Select the Pattern Stamp Tool. Like this: [HERE].
11. Select the Pattern you wish to use. Like this: [HERE].
12. Lastly open up an image and apply the Grid patterned brush by using the brush.

Tip*-. *Tip- It's best to change the Opacity to get the grid lighter.
(This tutorial used an opacity of 20% only to show you how it looks. It would look better in an other opacity but for this tutorial we used 20%.)
When applying a pattern open up a new layer, that way you can change the opacity a lot easier and add different kinds of effects too.
